Don’t feel GUILTY if you have had your daughter’s hair relaxed. With time and patience you can transition your daughter’s hair back to its natural state.
Select products with natural INGREDIENTS. Product selection is key in having a successful journey of transitioning. Look for products that are free of synthetic fragrances, dyes, petroleum, mineral oil and harsh cleansing agents.
Develop a ROUTINE for your child. Create a schedule that works best for you and your child. I wash my twins hair at least once a week or every two weeks. It depends on the season and their level of activity.
Set a LONG TERM goal for transitioning your child back to her natural hair texture. I have found that children DO NOT want all of their hair cut off because they fear being teased which can cause problems that they may have a tough time processing and navigating.
Keeping STYLE OPTIONS simple, consistent and kid friendly. Avoid intricate styles that may take hours upon hours to complete. Avoid tight braids especially around the hair line.
